Audio Not Working for iPod Touch
Version 1.3 of AccelaStudy was released in early 2009 and upgraded all AccelaStudy applications with professionally-recorded, native speaker audio. Each AccelaStudy product is designed around 2 languages. One is the user’s native language and one is the language the user is trying to learn.
For example, AccelaStudy Spanish | English is designed for users who either know English and are learning Spanish, or know Spanish and are learning English. To this end, AccelaStudy comes with audio files for both languages. For 2,100 written vocabulary words, there would be approximately 2,100 audio files recorded in English and 2,100 in Spanish.
However, AccelaStudy takes audio support one step further for some languages like Spanish. Since, in Spanish, words can be different because of gender, audio files are recorded for both gender variations. So there are separate audio recordings for “negro” and “negra”, for instance. This actually increases the total number of Spanish audio files to over 2,400. In total, the current version of AccelaStudy Spanish | English has over 4,500 associated audio files.
If you cannot hear the audio pronunciations when using AccelaStudy on an iPod Touch, please follow these steps:
-
Headphones must be connected to the device to hear audio. Please connect headphones and make sure the connection is working. Test the audio output by listening to music in the iPod music player. If you cannot hear music using the music player, there is may be something wrong with your headphones or your headphone connection.
-
Check the volume of the device. You can do this by double-clicking the Home button on the device. Make sure the volume is turned up to a reasonable level.
-
Next, check to see that Sound Effects have been enabled for your iPod Touch. To do this, starting at the Home screen of the device, open on the Settings application and navigate to Sounds and then to Sound Effects. This setting should be set to “Both”.
-
Finally, go into AccelaStudy and navigate to the main menu. Select Audio Options from the list and confirm that the Audio Enabled setting is on.
-
If none of these steps work, please email AccelaStudy Support at support@renkara.com.
